This is a concentration cemetery that was made after the war. It was a German strongpoint taken by the 4th NZ Brigade on 4th October 1917. There are 1439 burials, of which 958 are unidentified and 481 identified. There are 2 special memorials for men believed to be buried in this cemetery.
