A line of huts from Dickebusch to Brandhoek gave the cemetery its name. The German offensive of Spring 1918 nearly reached the cemetery. It contains 1094 burials, many of which are Artillery men who manned nearby positions in the 1917 offensive of the 3rd Battle of Ypres.
